Willy's Washboard Jamboree Washboard Willy is a low-tech, highly talented, world-wide entertainer. With thimbles on his gloves and whistles on his rhythm board, and a home-made cart carrying all sorts of sound makers, he will entertain young and old alike at the Clay County Fair. Larry Hiskett aka Washboard Willy had long ago been inspired by Washboard Leo who performed near a college Hiskett attended in Arkansas. He'd even purchased an antique washboard for himself. After many years of traveling with various bands as a drummer, necessity led to invention and his one-man band was born. And Hiskett, now Washboard Willy, soon realized children were attracted to his special combination of rhythm, sound effects and comedy. So he began passing around hand-held rhythm instruments to the children who came to listen. By the look on children's faces following him around, it was apparent that Hiskett has accomplished what he set out to do. With his own kind of energy, Washboard Willy has become a Pied Piper of Rhythm in children of all ages. His interactive style connects with all audiences. During his performance he and Wishboard Wanda pass out hand-held rhythm instruments to the kids and together they become Willy’s Washboard Jamboree. Hiskett’s wife, Donnis, (better known as Wishboard Wanda) is part of his act. She pulls out cow bells, rhythm sticks, trash can lids and other noise makers to the delight of children who love jamming with Washboard Willy. Denny the Rodeo Clown As a country music singer, he appears on the center Stage with his Dennis Lee Band. In his role as a roving act, he becomes a mime and a comdeian. Lee has been in the entertainment field for over 30 years. A native of Memphis, Tenn., the affable performer fills his shows wth the music of his idols, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis. When he's out on the commercial midway, he becomes Denny the Rodeo Clown. |

Frog Jumping Show We guarantee that you can't help but to laugh at all the antics! This is a very entertaining attraction, which is enjoyed by audiences of all ages. It involves lots of action and most of all, audience participation. "The Frog Trainers," as we call them, are chosen by the raising of hands from the audience. The persons selected get to choose a live frog and take the frog from a bucket to the center of the jumping ring and place it on the starting pad. The frog then gets to make three long jumps. The distance is then measured in a straight line to its last landing, and the trainer with the longest distance wins a trophy. Also, as we have no losers, all the trainers win a "Certificate of Participation." "All our frogs are farm raised, not wild caught” |

Rosaire's Royal Racers—–Pig Races She and her father travel the country from their home base in Bostwick, Fla., 10 months of the year bringing their act, “Rosaire’s Royal Racers” to fans at county and state fairs, private parties and festivals. The pigs — they travel with 24 pigs of different varieties —have living quarters in the lower section of the vehicle, complete with air conditioning. “It’s ridiculous, it’s very plush,” she said. Their human counterparts have living quarters upstairs. Rosaire was also home-schooled aboard the “Porcine Palace.” She said that the traveling life of a performer is the life for her. “Even if I don’t end up pig racing forever I’m definitely going to be in the entertainment industry,” she said. The pigs begin training to be racers when they’re about 1 month old. The Rosaires used cream-filled cookies, similar to Oreos, as bait. She said the pigs are very intelligent and could “blow a dog right out of the water” in terms of trainability. “A lot of people think they’re dumb and dirty, but they’re very intelligent,” |
