The Clay County Fair Association today announced that it will open its new RV Park to the general public. A formal ribbon cutting ceremony is planned through the Clay County Chamber of Commerce at 9:30 on October 1, 2015 at the park entrance, adjacent to the fairgrounds.

The new park office will be located in the administration office under the direction of the fair association.

The Board of Directors has named Derrell Kelly as the Property/RV Park Manager. He will report to General Manager, Pete Sutton.

The park has 68 spots available with underground utilities. The park was designed and built to accommodate the midway provider employees and vendors during the fair. Thanks for another Record-breaking Fair

The 2015 Clay County Agricultural Fair is now history. Our 29th Annual Fair was a huge success. We set another record attendance. This year’s attendance was 113,591, + 3.19% over last year’s record 110,978. We almost made our attendance goal of 115,000.

In addition we set a two new single day records on Saturday April 11th our record attendance was 24,303. Our previous record was single day record was 23,199 in 2013. We set a new Monday record of 6,996 this replaced the old 2010 record of 5,898. Records don’t just happen and especially record attendance two record years in a row.

Our 4-H/FFA Youth Livestock Sale was also a new record. The total sale produced $239,137 for our 4-H/FFA participants.

We crowned Katie Blocker as our first Miss Clay County Fair and Skylar McGlynn as Junior Miss Clay County Fair. Both attended several events during the fair.

We enjoyed visits from several other fairs including Salem County Fair, Salem Virginia, Dutchess County Fair, Rhinebeck, NY, Central FL Fair, Bradford County Fair, Baker County Fair, Columbia County Fair, Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair, Pasco County Fair, Putnam County Fair, and Volusia County Fair. In addition the Farm Bureau held their board meeting during our fair. The NE FL Farm Bureau Ladies group representing 9 NE FL counties also met during our fair.

We want to thank our thousands of dedicated volunteers, who shared their time and talents to serve our guests. Their pride and passion are the foundation of our fair. In addition, our Sponsor and Media Partners provide financial and service support that are vital to our success. Their support and presence at the fair is exceptional and greatly appreciated. We are truly blessed to have such a great team. Their work and support has earned us a great reputation as “A Family A*Fair”!

Post visit feedback was very complementary. This is a real tribute to our volunteers. They are passionate people, who are the backbone of our success. We are grateful for their dedicated service.

Thanks to everyone for your support of our fair. We hope that you will be a part of our team next year. Our dates are March 31 – April 9, 2016.
